All Rounder Washington Sundar had injured his bowling finger, he has taken an injection on his right hand bowling finger, but he will take long to recover. So he has been ruled out of the series against England. Meanwhile Avesh Khan fractured his left thumb in the warm-up game against the County XI. He has also been ruled out of the series.
Shubham Gill sustained stress reaction on his left leg in the World Test Championship Final and has returned to India. He will also not participate in the series.
Few Days ago, Rishabh Pant joined the team after testing negative for Covid-19, he has got his clearance from the BCCI medical team and is currently preparing for the series against England. Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran have also completed their self-isolation in and have now joined the Team in Durham.
The BCCI also mentioned that the Senior Selection Comittee have decided to name Prithvi Shaw and Surykumar Yadav as replacements.
