Just after a few days of losing the Inaugural ICC World Test Championship Final, the schedule for Indian Team for the 2021/22 season of The WTC has been announced. The team will play three home series against New-Zealand, Sri Lanka and Australia and three away test series against England, South Africa and Bangladesh.
India will kickstart their WTC 2021/23 campaign from their England tour in which the Indian Team have to play five test matches against England, which will start from 4th of August.
The Schedule for team India for their England tour is as follows:
1st Test - 4-8 August
2nd Test - 12-16 August
3rd Test - 25-29 August
4th Test - 2-6 September
5th Test - 10-14 September
As announced by The BCCI earlier the team will be given a 3 week break before their matches against England. For the time being the team will remain at England.
After the England Tour, Team India will face The Kiwis for a two match test series at home in November 2021. India will be eager for the revenge after their 2-0 lose against New-Zealand in their New Zealand tour and their lose of Final of the World Test Championship. The schedule for the New-Zealand tour of India is still not released.
After the New Zealand series at home, Team India will fly to South Africa for a three match test series which will take place from December 2021 to January 2022. Team India will await for their maiden test series victory against South Africa at their home.
After this, Team India will host Sri Lanka for a three match test series. It will be their second home series in the 21/23 season.
In the second half of 2022, Indian Team will face The Australian Team in the Border-Gavaskar Test Series for four matches at home. The Australians will look a win in the series after their two consecutive series loses against India.
For their last test series of the WTC 2021/23, Team India will face Bangladesh at their home in a two match test series.
