Argentina into the finals of Copa America 2021!

After a 1-1 tie at the end of 90 minutes, Argentina wins the semifinals in the penalty shootouts against Colombia. Now they will be facing Brazil in the final of Copa America 2021 on Saturday 10 July at 9:00PM (Brazil Time) in Maracanã Stadium, Rio de Janeiro.

Argentina mentioned their 1-0 lead in the semifinals with the help of an early goal by L. Martínez in 7’. Colombia scored the equaliser at 61’ by the goal from L. Díaz.

Colombia was the first to kick in the Penalty shootouts, they scored first penalty in the first chance by a penalty from J. Cuadrado which was equalised by Argentina in their first penalty by Lionel Messi. R De Paul (Argentina) and D. Sánchez (Colombia) both missed the second penalty for their respective countries.

Y. Mina (Colombia) missed and L. Paredes (Argentina) scored the goal in the third round of penalties. In the fourth penalties L. Martínez (Argentina) and M. Borja (Colombia) both scored a goal. E. Cardona (Colombia) missed Colombia’s final chance to go into the finals, which was saved by Argentinian goalkeeper D. Martínez. The penalties ended in 3-2. Colombia will now face Peru in the match for 3rd Place on 9th of July (Brazil Time).
